Everything's Better With Monkeys
First, a story. As I was washing my hands at the sink behind the bar in my room, I noticed this protrusion of water seeping out from the cupboard, at the floor, directly beside the sink. My first thought was, of course, that I have a leaky sink. So I checked the pipes.....but they were all dry. Next, since it had rained rather heavily the night before, I thought that perhaps the water was coming in from outside. (This has happened before. I was flooded twice last year.) Nope, not coming from outside either.
So, just on a whim, I opened the cupboard directly beside the sink, and I see a bit more water. Looking a bit further, I then found the culprit: a carton of calcium chloride.
For the unfamilar, calcium chloride ABSORBS water. People use it all the time to dry out basements or other damp places. So yeah, it was absorbing the moisture down here, and depositing it into my cupboard. LOL! I don't even remember BUYING a carton of calcium chloride, let alone putting it into a cupboard.
Ah well. Enjoy the clip.

Still Oblivious
Several new games have come out recently, and I've been slowly getting to them. (See previous post.) However, I keep finding myself back into Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
I've reached Level 6, and my character is starting to be quite the badass. He's deadly with both the bow and with a sword. I'm now a member of the Blades -- the secret group that protects the Emperor. Think Secret Service. Or, in more traditional terms, Maji. (The bodyguards of the Egyptian pharaohs.)
Anyway, I'm not directly assigned to the Emperor himself. Actually, the Emperor was killed at the beginning of the game, and his son hasn't yet been crowned. He's in hiding in the secret Blades hideout, high in the mountains. Before he can become Emperor, the Amulet of Kings must be found, and that is the task laid out before me. I'm currently en route to the secret shrine of this evil cult that stole the amulet. Sadly, these cursed portals to Oblivion are opening up every where I go, so of course I have to jump into them and shut them. (Plus, there's oodles of loot to be looted in there!)
While I was in the Imperial City researching the cult, I found this cool arena. It looked like fun, so I joined as a combatant. You fight in this arena, gladiator style, to the death. They give you gold for each win, and your rank increases. (I'm currently a Gladiator, and I'm not going to stop until I'm the Blademaster.) Mindless fighting. Lovely!
Ubersoldier
You'd think that a game with the word "uber" in the title just has to be good. Well, it doesn't.
Really, there were only two reasons why I decided to download this game and try it out. One was simply because it's a shooter, and I must play every game in that particular genre. The second was because it's nazi killing, which is my second favorite past time. Ever. (My number 1 favorite past time, of course, is zombie killing.)
Well, the game has a cool enough premise: You play a German soldier. A *dead* German solider. You're brought back to live through a twisted nazi experiment gone awry, and you end up obeying the orders of the Allies, rather than your nazi counterparts. Killing ensues.
The graphics are 5 years outdated. They're dull. Boring. Blah.
The voice acting is horrid. The movement of the story sucks.
There is one really cool thing tho -- you have the power to erect this translucent shield all around you that stops bullets. Neat. I'm like a WWII version of Neo now. Color me woo.
Anyways, I'm not going to be playing any more of this one. PD says.......FAILED!
